Destruction Derby brand design

- Designed while at Sony
- Car parts, rivets, working head and taillights and chunks of metal, all constructed together, made up the identity for the car-smash 'em up game Destruction Derby.
The PlayStation was a new platform, Destruction Derby was a new game style, I wanted to design a logo that had not previously been seen on games packaging.
The idea of it being a logo that was animated appealed to me and I got about designing ways in which the logo could have some form of movement to it. Using car parts and built-in electrics the logo had moving parts and flashing lights, all of which could be operated remotely. Once I had worked out the design, sketched the ideas, and redesigned the typeface of Crillee to work with various pieces metal and car parts, I liaised with a model maker to bring the design dream in to reality.
