Digital manipulation and image creation for Fuji advertising campaign

- The concept was life is much brighter with Fuji, and using the paper will bring your colours to life. The idea was everyday mundane scenes were mirrored in the printed area (bus shelter) however, as this was on Fuji paper, everything was more modern, bright, exuberant, etc.
This piece mirrored the grey man sat with his newspaper in a dull, rainy bus shelter against the colourful, Fuji-touched, man with his bright field and modern laptop.
Once I had sourced the right images from stock libraries the 2 images of the men were brought together. Actually the bus shelter shot was quite colourful so I adjusted the levels and saturation on the image to make it greyer. Once the laptop man had been masked in to the bus shelter I created a rain effect (shown above) and then, by manipulating the Photoshop layers, I was able to remove the black to make it look like it was actually raining. Parts of this rain were masked out so it wasn't raining in the shelter, or knocked back so the rain wasn't as strong when behind the glass of the shelter.
