National Quilt Museum exterior signage and interior display graphics
- Category: Interiors
- Designed while at Liquid
One of the design considerations for the National Quilt Museum was that the building was listed and I was restricted in what graphics, colours, sizes could be used for the external faces of the building. As very little could be attached to the building I designed free-standing graphics that could stand next to, but not attached to the building. The Q logo had to be in bronze and at a certain size in order to pass planning regulations.
Internal graphics were kept clean and simple, using the corporate colours and Gill Sans typeface and often were vinyl cut outs applied to clear perspex, to distract as little as possible from the listed walls, whilst still being able to carry out their function of being signs.
