In-store POS and graphics for Sony PlayStation games
- Category: Retail
- Designed while at Sony
Special mention should go to the Destruction Derby 2 banners, I saw a niche in the market when doing store visits – a lot of stores had columns/pillars but were not really using them. This long, thin banner design worked really well in store on these columns and uptake and demand from retailers was really high. The banner features an illustration that I did in a pop art style (a nod to American culture as the game was also American), these pop art designs were done in Freehand (in the days before Illustrator) and featured on t-shirts and limited edition postcards also.
The Joey Tenka standee was pretty awesome in store as being six foot tall it really had dominance and presence. Also the Riot POS featured a die cut logo and a fluorescent sheet behind this – meaning that in store it looked like the logo was illuminated.
These are just a few of the retail POS (Point of Sale) designs I did when working in-house at Sony. For further images of the logos, PlayStation packaging, PC packaging or advertisements linked to these, please click on the relevant word to access the link.
