Performing Seal character illustrations

  • Category: Illustration/Digital manipulation
  • Designed while at Scarlet Arch
  • Inspired by the Churchill CGI rendered dog,
but without the budget, these illustrations were produced in Photoshop using 'old fashioned' airbrushing methods combined with some photographed elements.

Great fun to do a range of characters, even more satisfying when the company we initially got to do soft-image renders couldn't match the standard done in Photoshop. The seal was an integral part of the logo design and it was felt, as the subject matter was not the most interesting (a gel that goes in tyres to seal and stop punctures), that it should be character led. It was hoped the character had the potential to role out in to merchandise and soft toys.
